When Holly told me that her wedding was going to be outdoors on top of a mountain in February, I couldn't help but note what an unusual choice that is. Having photographed a wedding at Winter Park Resort's Sunspot Lodge in the summer before, I didn't doubt that it would be beautiful, but nothing could have prepared me for the stunning sharp winter sunset ceremony. All the skiers had gone taken their last runs and were undoubtedly sipping hot toddies and local brews in the candlelit village below, and we had the mountain to ourselves. Maybe it's the way the warm long light beams bounce off the perfectly white snow. Maybe it's Holly's natural red curls and her decor of fragrant greenery. Maybe it was Patrick's goofy smile every time he saw her. I don't know exactly where the magic came from, but I do know I'm glad I got to be there for this incredible wedding.
Many thanks to: The INCREDIBLE Emily Jackson at Winter Park Resort | Bruce Barnes, one of the most delightful DJ's we've ever worked with, and | Mary Taylor for her cheerful and meaningful officiation.
